The MUCTAC Sentinel was already a hell of a knife.

M390 steel. Machined titanium. Smooth flipper action. Lightweight enough to disappear in your pocket and enough blade to handle actual work.

But here's the thing about us:

If something bugs us, we're going to fix it.

And after carrying the Sentinel, there were a few things that bugged us.

Nothing catastrophic. Nothing that required some dramatic "TOTAL REDESIGN!" marketing nonsense. Just a handful of details that made us say, Yeah...we can do that better.

So we did.

WHAT WE MUCKED WITH

A Pocket Clip That Doesn't Fight Your Pants

The original titanium clip was stout. Really stout.

As in, why am I wrestling my own pocket? stout.

We wanted to keep the titanium construction and solid retention, but give the clip enough flex to actually slide over a pocket like a pocket clip is supposed to.

So we made it slightly thinner.

Same titanium. Same strength where it counts. Less fighting with your jeans.

A Beefier Frame Lock

The original frame lock worked exactly like it was supposed to, but the lock bar was thinner than we liked.

Clamp down hard on the Sentinel and that narrow edge could dig into your index finger.

That's annoying.

So we beefed it up.

The revised frame lock is thicker, giving your finger a broader and more comfortable contact surface while maintaining the solid lockup we expect from the Sentinel.

More Room for Your Trigger Finger...Well, Knife Finger

The index-finger relief at the front of the handle was a little cramped.

So we stretched it.

The extended relief gives your index finger more room to settle naturally into the handle, improving comfort and control—especially when you're actually using the knife instead of taking glamour shots of it for Instagram.

Ceramic Bearings — Because Smooth Can Always Get Smoother

We also upgraded the Sentinel's pivot to a ceramic ball-bearing system.

Did the old Sentinel flip?

Yep.

Does this one flip better?

Yep.

Crisper deployment. Smoother travel. And dangerously close to becoming something you'll sit at your desk flipping open and closed until somebody asks you to stop.

Not that we'd know anything about that.
